Green Biologics announces Dr. Tim Davies as President of the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology.

Abingdon, Oxfordshire U.K. (April 15, 2013) – Green Biologics Limited (GBL), a UK based industrial biotechnology company announces the election of Dr. Tim Davies, GBL’s Chief Technology Officer, as President of the Society for Industrial Microbiologyand Biotechnology. Dr. Davies has been a director of SIMB since 2010. 

The Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology is a non-profit, internationalassociation dedicated to the advancement of microbiological sciences, especially as they apply to industrial products, biotechnology, materials, and processes. Founded in1949, SIMB promotes the exchange of scientific information through its meetings andpublications, and serves as liaison among the specialized fields of microbiology. Membership in the Society is extended to all scientists and companies in the generalfield of microbiology. 

Dr. Davies joined GBL as Chief Technology Officer in 2011 after having served as aboard advisor since 2004. “I’m personally delighted that Tim’s vision and leadershipskills have been recognized by SIMB and have no doubt of his ability to guide and leadthis outstanding organization,” said Sean Sutcliffe, Chief Executive of GBL. “Thesequalities have been long recognized by those of us who have worked so closely with Timover these past critical years of growth at Green Biologics.” Dr. Davies will act as President elect from August 2013 and will begin his term as President of SIMB in August, 2014 serving through 2015 and will continue to serve on the SIMB board as Past-President through 2016.
